The Harrods Story
The story of Champagne Gold begins with London’s Harrods. The brief: coat the truss soffit of a five-storey bank of escalators in a new signature metal finish. Our UK distributors collaborated with the principal designer to create the colour and train the main contractor, a Hong Kong-based team, in Metalier’s system. The material was produced in New Zealand, the application was done in China, and the completed panels were then shipped to London for installation. To fit them, the roof of Harrods itself had to be removed.
The result? A breathtaking architectural moment that gleams in the heart of one of the world’s most iconic stores, proof that sustainability and luxury can travel the world together.
