The STORY

The Metalier Projects page is a visual snapshot of what happens when real metal is freed from traditional constraints. These projects span commercial, residential, and bespoke architectural applications, each one demonstrating how Metalier liquid metal transforms surfaces into authentic, tactile metal finishes, without the weight, cost, and fabrication limits of solid metal.

Across the Metalier Projects collection, you’ll see a wide spectrum of metals and finishes: bronze, brass, aluminium, iron, and more, each applied seamlessly to shapes and surfaces that would be difficult or impossible to achieve with sheet metal. From richly detailed ceilings in large public spaces to finely resolved interior joinery, these projects reveal the versatility of liquid metal when handled by skilled applicators and thoughtful designers.

Many of the projects originate in Aotearoa/New Zealand and the United Kingdom, with others reaching further afield, including Vietnam. Together, they reflect a shared design ambition rather than a single style. A deep blue, oil-finished aluminium door sits confidently alongside warm bronze ceiling details in a bustling shopping mall. A brass legal fit-out, described by those who worked within it as “profound”, shows how metal can shape atmosphere as much as aesthetics. Fireplace surrounds, kitchens, bars, reception desks, credenzas, and coffee bars reveal how Metalier finishes elevate everyday architectural elements into moments of quiet drama.

Some projects explore durability and scale, gym interiors, exterior rust panels, and high-traffic commercial environments, and others that lean into craft and storytelling, such as furniture, doors, and the bronze leaf stairway pattern aboard a historic P&O liner. And, of course, the iconic elevators at Harrods stand as a reminder that Metalier finishes are trusted in some of the world’s most prestigious settings.
